We're committed to sustainable practices and to getting better at them every day.

Everything we do is rooted in sustainability. What's taught in the classroom, the food we eat, the buildings we spend time in, and the events we put on all include elements of sustainable practices.

Our Mission

We are dedicated to creating a culture of sustainability at Illinois State University through interdisciplinary and inclusive collaboration with students, faculty, and staff.

We strive to develop solutions to reduce our environmental impact, integrate best practices into campus operations, and use every corner of our living laboratory to educate and inform our Redbird community.

Show Your Commitment to Sustainability

  • Faculty and Staff

Let us know about any aspects of sustainability you're doing at the University. Whether you're teaching a course dedicated to a sustainable future, integrating environmental concepts into your research, or you've implemented a sustainable practice in your workspace, we want to know all about it.

This information helps us create an inventory of all the sustainable efforts across campus and increases our AASHE rating. Plus, it makes us a supportive partner for you. We'll use this information to become better collaborators, find grants and funding, and develop future initiatives.
