Rolling Gardens

Make plants part of your curriculum.

What is growing today?

Our mobile gardens add a creative aspect to the classroom. Plants can teach us a lot about science, economics, and the environment. They can also provide lessons on life, introduce us to elements of diverse cultures, and help us appreciate hard work.

Endless Possibilities

Whatever you're trying to teach, there's a plant that can help get the point across. Thanks to a strategic design and LED lights, you can grow whatever you'd like in the Redbird Rolling Gardens in any season.

How It Works

Email us to get started. Tell us what you'd like to do and when you'd like to do it. We'll respond with next steps. You can also just let us know you're interested and we can come up with ideas together.

  • Plant Care

You can care for your plants on your own or members of the Horticulture Club and Sustainable State can monitor the cart for you.

  • Check Out Length

Keep the mobile garden as long as you need, up to a full semester.

  • Availability

We currently have three mobile gardens. Give us as much advanced notice as possible to ensure there's a cart available when you need it.

The Rolling Gardens are not intended for growing edible food unless otherwise approved. If you would like to grow edible plants for your classroom or laboratory, let us know so we can follow the proper food safety guidelines.
