    Every Friday throughout the Academic Year

    Bring an item of clothing that needs a small repair and we'll fix it on the spot for free.

  • ISU Share Shop

    Open M, W, F throughout the academic year

    The ISU Share Shop is a free resource-sharing store located in the Office of Sustainability at 305 N. School Street. Students can shop for a variety of FREE gently-used items such as clothing, shoes, accessories, small household items, textbooks, and more.

    A national annual campaign that aims to raise awareness about food waste and inspire change.

  • Earth Day

    Earth Day's official celebration date is April 22 but we celebrate all month long with speakers, presentations, and activities.

  • International Compost Awareness Week

    Celebrated during the first full week of May

    This week encourages us all to work together to raise public awareness on why we all should be composting our organics and using compost to create healthier soil.

  • World Environment Day

    June 5

    Organizations and citizens across the globe use this day to address pressing environmental issues. We'll use our social media platforms to bring awareness to these challenges and learn what we can all do to implement solutions.

    Challenge yourself during the month of July to go plastic-free. We use this time to educate and offer tips to reduce single-use plastic waste.

  • ISU Front Yard Free Cycle

    August

    This annual two-day event is hosted by the Office of Sustainability and takes place each year during Welcome Week every fall. Items collected during Move-Out are spread out on the lawn of the Office of Sustainability for incoming students to take for free. Dorm room essentials, small furniture items, rugs, lamps, Redbird apparel, shoes, and more!

    Recycling is an impactful way to save the environment. Learn what you can recycle at Illinois State and get advice on how you can reuse and reduce waste.

    Select Home Football Games

    Cheer on the Redbirds without creating harmful waste. Stop by our tailgate during select home football games to grab free vegan food, play a few yard games, and cheer on the Birds!
